Training for Biblical Counselor Certification

Welcome to the online training of Fellowship of Biblical Counselors! This training may look familiar to you as the format is like other popular online training programs, but there are some specific details and information that you should understand with this training process before you begin. 

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT WEBINAR TRAINING

#1   |   VERIFY THE TRAINING REQUIREMENTS FOR BIBLICAL COUNSELING CERTIFYING AGENCIES

First, the M.I.T. webinar format, as well as the classroom training at Timberlake Baptist, satisfies all the counseling fundamentals training required to be a certified counselor with these four biblical counseling organizations: (Check with your approved training center director and the above organization of choice on how this training coincides with their approved certification training process.)

#2   |   The EXCLUSIVE Purpose of this TRAINING IS COUNSELING IN THE CONTEXT OF THE LOCAL CHURCH

Second, this training is designed to help assist you in understanding the importance of the sufficiency of scripture in practical theology for soul-care and redemptive purposes, within the oversight and ministry of the local church. The fundamentals training is NOT FOR PROFESSIONAL COUNSELING use exclusively, outside of the purpose and authority of the local church.

#3   |   THIS TRAINING IS FOR BASIC SKILLS & BIBLICAL METHODOLOGY

Third, the M.I.T. training provides you a very important starting place to learn the basic skills and biblical methodology of impacting change in the lives that God uses in the soul-care of those in need.  

Finally, this fundamentals training is NOT designed to be exhaustive in counseling content and methodology for discipling people in crisis. It does, however, provide a fundamental understanding of effectively ministering the timeless texts of Scripture to facilitate your own spiritual growth, as well as to increase your biblical skill level in the soul-care work of others. 

#4   |   THIS TRAINING REQUIRES APPROVAL FROM A TRAINING CENTER SPONSOR & MEMBERSHIP IN A CERTIFYING AGENCY

There is one more important piece of information needed in completing this online training for biblical counseling certification. You must be sponsored by an approved training center director who will mentor your progress, and you must have an approved application for membership with the organization that will certify you.  Congrats! You are now ready for the online M.I.T. training!
